Junior Hamilton killed 10 month old Leroy Jackson in 1978 after absconding from a Bexley Mental Hospital when he was 27.
Within 48 hours of leaving the mental hospital he was at his sisters home in Pepys Estate , Deptford where he was playing with his sisters two children while she was out. However, Leroy Jackson wouldnt stop crying and so he hit him several times fracturing his skull. He later died in hospital from a brain haemorrage and pneumonia.
He was found unfit to plead at the time and sent to Rampton Mental Hospital.
In 1986 he was found fit to plead and was convicted of manslaughter. He was then sent back to Rampton Mental Hospital which caused him considerable distress. When the judge read out the sentence he jumped to his feet in protest and screamed 'I DON'T WANT TO GO' and was taken back to the cells struggling in protest.
