Stuart Robertson shot Jim McDonald.
In 2004 he was convicted for the culpable homicide of a man he punched outside a pub.
He plotted the murder of Jim McDonald whilst he was in prison for the culpable homicide after his brother was stabbed. He believed that Jim McDonald was responsible. He went off in a convoy looking for him and when he found him he shot him twice.
The murder was associated with the unsolved murder of Jim McDonald' brother Derek McDonald who was thought to have been killed by Kevin McCluskey who was himself murdered in revenge by Derek McDonald's son John McDonald after charges against him were dropped. The court heard that Jim McDonald had stabbed Stuart Robertson's brother because he was associated with Kevin McCluskey.
