Norman Carlton killed Patrick Brady for which he was convicted of culpable homocide and served 8 years. He stabbed him in the chest, stomach and face. After completing his sentence he went on in 2012 to murder Stewart Gillespie and attempt to murder his victims ex-partner.
In 2000 he had mixed sedatives with alcohol at a flat on Orchard Street and then ordered everyone out of the room announcing that he was going to stab Patrick Brady. Patrick Brady died the next day from his wounds at Royal Alexandra Hospital.
In October 2012 at a flat in Paisley he stabbed Stewart Gillespie to death and attempted to murder Stewart Gillespies ex-partner. Stewart Gillespie was also a convicted murderer having been convicted of the murder of Mark Rennie for which he had served 14 years.
