Murdered 6 people and burnt their corpses on a fire. It was heard by the court that the murders were all contract killings.

He later implicated several other people in the murders some of whom were convicted although their sentences were later quashed on the grounds that John Childs was a pathological liar and whose statements were unreliable.

George Brett was lured to a factory but he had brought along his 10 year old son Terence Brett and they were both shot.
Frederick Sherwood was a nursing home proprietor.
Ronald Andrews was a roofing contractor.
Terence Eve was a soft toy manufacturer.
Robert Brown was a prison escapee.

The bodies were then disposed of on the fire at John Childs London flat. It was heard that he had initially tried to use a butchers mincing machine but didnt have the power to do the job properly.
