Paul Irwin was convicted of the murder of Tiffany Render.
He atacked her at his flat in Whitehaven, Cumbria, on 22 March 2024.
The court heard that her blood was found in three rooms at his flat and that she died from a massive haemorrhage.

At the time of the murder, Paul Irwin was described as having been bingeing on lager and cocaine, having drunk numerous cans of larger earlier in the day and taken ten lines of cocaine.
He had previously been convicted for repeatedly hitting her with a wooden rolling pin, and slapping and strangling her, for which he was given a suspended sentence.
