Wayne Couzens was convicted of the murder of Sarah Everard 33.
He kidnapped her as she walked home alone from a friends house and took her away in a hired car and raped and strangled her after which he dumped her body in a wood near Ashford in Kent.
He had kidnapped her under the guise of enforcing the Covid lockdown regulations that had been in effect at the time. The kidnapping was caught on several CCTV systems including bus CCTV that passed them on the side of the road.
He later killed her and took her to an area of woodland that he owned in Hoads Wood where he dumped her body in a stream.
Before dumping her body he put it in a refrigerator and set fire to it before moving her remains to the stream in builders bags.
It was heard that a few days after the murder that he took his family to the woods for a day out.
