Geoffrey Strike was convicted of the manslaughter of Jason Comerford 21.
He cut his throat as he walked home from a nightclub in 1994.
He had been a suspect earlier but there was not enough evidence, but efforts were made around 2020 to review the case and he was arrested and charged after a cold case review.
