Vytautas Jokubauskas was convicted of the murder of Ramute Butkiene 42.
He strangled her with a dressing gown cord and then dismembered her. Her torso was later found in a suitcase in a locked room. He buried her arms and legs in a local wood and disposed of her head.
After he went on the run.
In 1992 he was jailed for killing a man in Lithuania in a brawl and served a brief sentence.
