A Youth was convicted of the murder of Lianne Gordon.
He shot her through a front door of her flat in Vine Close whilst she was protecting her children from gang violence on 5 December 2023. She was shot in the head.
The youth had been associated with the Pembury Gang from Hackney and in the supply of Class A and B drugs. However, the Pembury Gang was in dispute with the Amhurst Road Gang and they had been involved in what was described as escalating violence whic involved an escalation of violence towards anyone believed to be associated with the Amhurst Road Gang, also known as the A-Road Gang.
On the day of the murder, Lianne Gordon's son recieved a text message saying:
At about 6pm Lianne Gordon went to the door where she encountered the Youth and she tried to shut the door on him, however, he shot her. Lianne Gordon's daughter then ran down and when she saw that her mother was dead she opened the door and screamed at the Youth, causing some motion sensing lights to come on. She said that although the Youth had been wearing a balaclava, she saw enough of his face in the bright light to recognise him.
She said:
The daughter said that she then saw two people outside, a girl an d her boyfriend, who had also both been shot.
The police found that eight shots had been fired from the same gun.
When the police searched the Youth's computer, they found that he had made about 65 searches over the murder.

It was also noted that whilst he was on remand that he wrote rap lyrics about the murder.
At the time of the murder he had already been out on bails for a another charge of attempted murder.
